Founded in 2004 with 73 students, Lotus Valley International School (LVIS), Noida, is co-educational K-class XII day school affiliated with the Central Board of Secondary Education. It currently boasts 2,450 students on its muster rolls. The school also offers The Young Learners’ English Test (YLE) conducted by Cambridge International (UK), the Key English Test (KET) and Preliminary English Test (PET) conducted by the British Council.
The brainchild of property developer and philanthropist Nirmal Singh, who is also chairman of the school’s board of directors, LVIS’ core philosophy is to teach “every student as an individual with distinctive learning, inclination and unique ability”.
This school is housed on a 12.5 acre-campus with three separate wings — pre-primary, primary and senior. The school buildings that include a 1,200-capacity auditorium, a cafeteria, bowling alley, squash court, skating ring, library, gymnasium, art and a craft facility with special amenities for the physically challenged students are air-conditioned. The campus also has playgrounds and indoor and outdoor swimming pools.
The three-storey pre-primary block has comprises 36 classrooms, activity rooms and a utility space that serves as an assembly point, work and practice area, or an amphitheatre.
The five-storey primary block has an elevator and the classrooms have hi-tech interactive boards, projectors and computers. The junior library is well stocked with age-specific books. Special rooms are provided for dance, western and Indian music, arts and crafts etc.
The senior secondary block has a unique architectural design and consists of classrooms and a reception area with spacious glass cubicles for the visitors.
The school has silent generators to ensure a constant power supply and fire alarms and fire-fighting system for security.
LVIS boasts an impressive library comprising several volumes, a comprehensive range of CD-Roms, videos and online learning material apart from designated areas for individual, small-group tuition and conference facilities. The school boasts six science labs (for junior and senior schools) bristling with modern equipment to encourage learning by doing and computer and maths labs to make learning enjoyable and fun.
Moreover the school offers a whole range of indoor and outdoor sports facilities including swimming, athletics, horse riding, golf, football, lawn tennis, cricket and hockey. In the middle and senior schools, students are trained to acquire organizational and analytical skills. Admission Procedure
The application along with registration fee and a copy of the child’s birth certificate is to be deposited at the school reception. The registration fee is non-refundable.
Entrance Examination
On completion of the registration process, parents are informed about the date of the written entrance test for the students of class I onwards. This will be followed by an informal interaction of the student and parents with the principal and vice-chairman. Based on the test results, the interaction and the number of vacancies in each class, parents are notified. Once the admission is confirmed, school fees and documents have to be submitted.
