The Madhya Pradesh government has decided to close schools for the students of classes 1 to 8 till April 15, 2021. At the same time, the classes for 9 to 12 standard will start from April 1, 2021. The government has taken this decision amid rising cases of Covid-19 in the state.
The new order has been issued by the Secretary of School Education Department Sanjay Goel on March 30, 2021. The order has been issued to the entire district collector and been circulated to the schools across Madhya Pradesh.
Students from classes 9 to 12 will be required to submit parent’s consent in order to attend the offline classes. The department has also issued SOPs for these classes. All the schools are required to follow the guidelines and social distancing norms.
All other primary classes in the schools across Madhya Pradesh are being held through online mode. The offline classes for primary sections may start from June 23, 2021.
Earlier, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan government had decided to keep schools shut till March 31, 2021, for classes 1 to 8. The state government had dropped the annual examinations for classes 1 to 8 adding that no test would be conducted and will be evaluated on the basis of project work.
