Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan government has decided to keep schools shut till March 31, 2021, for classes 1 to 8. The state government has also dropped the annual examinations for classes 1 to 8. CM Chouhan also added that no test would be conducted and will be evaluated on the basis of project work.
However, regular classes for classes 10, 12 would begin shortly. The new academic session for other classes in the state would commence on April 1, 2021.
A meeting was held between CM Chouhan and the Department of Schools Education on Friday, December 4, 2020. During the meeting, the CM also instructed the officials to prepare a year-wise detailed action plan for 10,000 high-quality schools that should be opened in the state in the coming three years.
For classes 10 and 12, social distancing norms in the classroom would be followed along with other neccessary precautions. Students of classes 9 and 11 will be called to school one or two days a week.
The CM also added that ‘radical’ changes have to be brought in the field of school education so that the education of the state can be best. Government school has to be made better with the help of society.
The state government has also decided that guest teachers who teach well would be appointed in the schools from next year onwards. Provision would be made for increasing the honorarium every year and special attention would be paid to the quality of education in the state.
