MAEER’s MIT Pune’s Vishwashanti Gurukul (VGS), Solapur is a coeducational day-cum-boarding school affiliated with the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), New Delhi. The school is promoted by the Maharashtra Academy of Engineering Education and Research (MAEER).
The 125 acres land of the Gurukul complex was donated by Raj Kapoor, one of the legends of Indian cinema. The school boasts latest instructional methodology and a high-tech education system. A registered society, MAEER was founded in the year 1983 by Dr. Vishwanath D. Karad, and runs 36 higher education institutions with an aggregate enrolment of 50,000 students.
The 125 acre campus of Vishwashanti Gurukul has a well stocked library featuring a good collection of encyclopedias, journals and newspapers, an audio-visual room and a reading hall. There is an Olympic size football and cricket field. The campus also includes an art centre, a boarding home with seven main houses, gym, a cafeteria and a health centre.

Admissions to Vishwashanti Gurukul are strictly based on the ability of the student to cope with the demands of the international programmes offered at the school. Admission and registration form can be downloaded from school website. Admissions to PYP are based on the personal interview with the student and parent.
For admissions to MSP and IBDP, students are required to write an aptitude test in basic English and mathematics, followed by a personal interview. Once selected, candidates are required to pay the registration charges and admission fee to secure their admission. The school’s academic year begins in the first week of July.
