GDCW pride
I was delighted to learn that my alma mater — Government Degree College for Women, Begumpet, Hyderabad — is ranked among India’s Top 3 government autonomous colleges in the EW India Higher Education Rankings 2023-24 (EW April).
Congratulations to principal Dr. Padmavathi, faculty and students for continuing the GDCW tradition of empowering women […]
Refreshing suggestions
Thanks for your very refreshing summer activities suggestions in the latest cover story (PW March). My children are 10 and 12 years respectively, and keeping them busy during the summer holidays is a herculean task. I especially liked your Connecting with Nature recommendations. Most of the year, children are so busy juggling packed […]
Enlightening comment
As much as your cover story ‘National Curriculum Framework (NCF) for School Education: Great Expectations’ (EW March) highlights the urgent need for NCF to standardise the quality of school education countrywide, it also exposes the confusion that most educators have about NCF, its purpose and implementation.
Be that as it may, I was […]
Timely & relevant
Congratulations for publishing an excellent parenting magazine. The stories are timely and relevant and address pressing parenting problems.
I specially liked your Ask the Doctor and Ask Your Counsellor columns. The most important concern of parents is children’s physical and mental health and it’s very reassuring to read expert opinion on how […]
Welcome guidelines
Congratulations for a brilliant cover story ‘1991 liberalisation moment in Indian education?’ and informative graphics on the recent big deals in K-12 education and foreign education majors in India (EW February).
Strong winds of change are indeed sweeping over Indian education. Samuel Fraser of ISC Research is right in his comment that “NEP […]
Good advice
Your recipes section (PW January) inspired me to rediscover apples, a crunchy powerhouse of nutrients.
In India, we are used to eating raw apples and rarely cook or bake them. But your apple recipes were far too tempting not to try out. I tried the apple pie and crumble and both have become […]
Words of encouragement
As always, the latest issue of EducationWorld makes absorbing reading. I hope in this year, we will meet the extraordinary expectations and aspirations of all for a transformative change in our knowledge society enriched by erudite individuals like you. I appreciate your visionary oversight of this widely read magazine which is a […]
Health is wealth
Thanks for the informative and upbeat cover story ‘Starting the New Year positively’ (PW December).
I fully agree with nutritionist Dr. Ruchita Maheswari that it’s important to prioritise health and well-being in 2023. Just when we thought the Covid pandemic was behind us, we are hearing news of new Covid variants and […]
I AM A regular reader of EducationWorld and want to thank you for publishing the comprehensive EW India Preschool Rankings 2022-23 (EW December), especially after the understandably truncated surveys over the pandemic years.
I also welcome inclusion of the best government-run anganwadis in your survey. This will serve the purpose of focusing government attention on […]
I am mother to a one-year-old baby girl. Your story on the importance of sleep in infancy was an eye-opener (PW November). It’s amazing to learn that it’s during sleep that crucial brain and physical development happens. Your suggestions to improve infants’ sleep were excellent.
I HAVE been a reader of EducationWorld for over a decade now. Congratulations on your 23rd anniversary issue (EW November). I particularly like the insightful cover story ‘Reviving the lost art of philanthropy and fundraising’.
The number of HNI (high networth individuals) and unicorn companies in India are multiplying rapidly as reported by several […]
Nutritionist Vasanthi Senthilvel’s column on foods which boost brain development in children was informative and useful (PW October). My daughter is three years old and I understand the importance of providing her the right diet to boost physical and cognitive development.
I also liked your banana recipes. My grandmother always recommended bananas with […]
Evolving parameters
My heartiest congratulations to EducationWorld for the comprehensive EW India School Rankings 2022-23 Part I and Part II (EW September and October) issues.
As a committed reader of EW — especially the school rankings surveys — I am impressed with your evolving parameters of school education excellence over the years. Another welcome inclusion is […]
Your cover story titled ‘Inspire children with the idea of India’ was a delight to read (PW August). Like most children of this generation, my sons aged nine and 11 years, have very limited knowledge of India’s freedom struggle. I wholeheartedly agree with you that it’s critically important to educate children about our unique […]
Suggest educative apps
Thank you for a very informative essay on why parents should focus on ‘screen quality’ instead of ‘screen time’.
Technology is here to stay. We cannot deny its presence. Our children depend on technology for completion of their schoolwork. Therefore, we must encourage them to access digital content which is informative, also […]
CONGRATULATIONS FOR bringing out the mammoth 344-page EducationWorld India School Rankings issue (EW September). It’s undisputedly the most comprehensive schools rankings survey in the country, and perhaps worldwide. In particular, special thanks for bringing back the sports education parameter and continuing with the critical parameter of mental and emotional well-being services to assess schools […]
Your cover story (EW August) was well researched and on point regarding issues of the Barefoot College (BC) model of learning without formal degrees and the reasons cited why it may not work in India. These are revolutionary ideas based on a steadfast belief in the human spirit and honesty that have yielded extraordinary […]
Constructive criticism
I read your detailed cover story ‘NEP 2020: Project implementation progress report’ (EW July) with great interest. It highlights the slow progress being made to implement the National Education Policy 2020, two years after it was presented to Parliament with great hope and expectation. This is further proof that overhauling India’s education system […]
Distinguished philosopher
My compliments to you for the highly insightful and comprehensive cover story ‘Why every educator should revisit J. Krishnamurti?’ (EW June). Krishnamurti was the sole Indian existential philosopher who advocated individualism in education development. The spirit of his education philosophy needs to be replicated in India’s faltering K-12 education system.
I have been following the annual EW India Higher Education Rankings for the past three years. Well deserved congratulations to EducationWorld and C fore for a comprehensive higher education institutions rankings survey (EW May) under the new subject-wise categories of multidisciplinary, engineering & technology, liberal arts and humanities, medical & life sciences and […]
I have been childless for ten years after marriage. It has been a very frustrating and painful experience.
Two years ago we decided to adopt a child and registered with an adoption agency. This also has been a frustrating experience. We are still on the waiting list as the agency says very few […]
I was delighted to discover that my alma mater — Government Science College, Bengaluru — has been awarded recognition and ranked India’s #1 government autonomous arts, science and commerce college for two years consecutively in the EW India Higher Education Rankings 2022-23 (EW April).
I recall the college has an impressive campus in the heart […]
I was shocked and distressed to read about the looming national child mental health crisis in your latest cover story (PW March). Over the past two years, the pandemic has severely disrupted family lives and children’s education. Children have had to face unprecedented challenges adjusting to the new normal of school […]
Mental health focus call
Kudos for a well-researched, timely and optimistic cover story ‘10 post-pandemic recovery solutions’ (EW March). These days all we read are stories of gloom and doom and how children will take decades to recover from the learning loss suffered during the world’s longest schools lockdown.
Your cover story on the rising popularity of parenting coaches (PW February) was interesting. A few years ago, parents consulting professionals to improve their relationship with children was unheard of. It was believed that parenting is instinctive and no additional training is needed to become a good parent.
Kudos for a well-written cover story exposing the unchecked corrupt practices destroying Indian education (EW February). I agree with Dr. Seetharamu when he says that corruption in Indian education has been allowed to fester and multiply because of negligence of the Central and state governments.
The huge scams in teacher appointments in government schools and […]
I love reading the ‘Your counsellor replies’ column by parenting coach Dr. Pallavi Chaturvedi. Her parenting advice is always relevant and applicable. In her January column she gave brilliant advice about how in large families parents can teach children the value of money.
Also many thanks for the essay ‘Helping children with homework’. It was […]
Congratulations for your brilliant news-breaking cover story ‘National rollout of India’s largest private schools chain’ (EW January).
This is an unrevealed success story of Dr. B.S. Rao and Dr. Jhansi Lakshmi Bai Boppana and their go-getting daughters, who have quickly built the Sri Chaitanya Group which has transformed Andhra and Telangana into India’s most well-educated […]
Thank you for your heart-warming cover story ‘Grandparents big pandemic comeback’ (PW December).
As a child, I grew up in a large joint family that included grandparents. They were a repository of wisdom, stories and life experiences. We learnt so much from them. Most importantly, they gave us unconditional love and emotional security.
My heartiest compliments to Team EW for the comprehensive EducationWorld India School Rankings Part I and II (EW November and December)! As an avid reader of EducationWorld — especially the school rankings edition — I am impressed with the way EWISR has evolved and matured over the years to match the needs of changing […]
Though schools have reopened, I am hesitant about sending my children to in-person classes as news of a third pandemic wave triggered by the Omicron variant looms. But on the other hand, the children are frustrated attending online school for almost two years. It is also adversely affecting my children’s eye sight […]
Congratulations to Team EW for bringing out a mammoth 280-page 22nd anniversary issue! The EducationWorld India School Rankings are undisputedly the most comprehensive school rankings in the country, perhaps worldwide.
Special thanks for adding two new parameters — online education effectiveness and mental & emotional well-being services — to assess schools in these changed times. […]
Thanks for the Kidzone section — it’s interesting and enjoyable. My children love solving the puzzles and DIY creative activity. Also your selection of reference books was very useful. Moreover, I enjoy reading the Ask the Doctor column every month. The October column by Dr. Gita Mathai about urinary tract infection in […]
Extraordinary Dr. Kumar
Congratulations for the inspirational success story ‘The very extraordinary Prof. Raj Kumar’ (EW October), a welcome departure from routine EW cover features. This visionary educator dared to dream of establishing India’s first global university, and how! I applaud his grit, determination and extraordinary project conceptualisation and management capabilities.
It’s amazing to read […]
Thank you for your informative cover story ‘Readying children for on-campus school’ (PW September). I am pleased that schools have finally reopened in Bengaluru.
The past 18 months of lockdown and online schooling have turned my once energetic and sporty teenage son into a couch potato. Pre-pandemic he used to love playing games and actively participated […]
I am a regular reader of EducationWorld. After reading your cover story (EW September), I am surprised you are in such a hurry to pass judgement about an education minister who has just taken charge.
Rather than question his abilities a month after being appointed Union education minister, we must extend all support to the man […]
Welcome parenting apps
Thanks for your informative cover story ‘Best parenting apps 2021’ (PW August). There are literally hundreds of parenting apps and it’s very difficult to choose the best. Your curated list of the Top 10 was helpful and refreshing.
In today’s pandemic routine of work from home and online schooling parents are swamped […]
Exemplary teachers
Congratulations on your unique cover story ‘30 Eduleaders Weathering Covid Tsunami’ (EW August). It was comforting to read about several principals’ creative responses to the pandemic disruption of education and the world’s longest schools lockdown.
In particular, it was distressing to learn about Ganesh Prasad, the dedicated principal of the government-aided Sadguru High […]
Prioritise character building
Thanks for your wonderful cover story ‘Character building in the Covid-19 era’ (PW July). It reminded me of my schooldays when values education classes were an integral part of the school timetable and the fundamental values of honesty, respect, self-discipline and empathy were constantly emphasised as the building blocks of good character. […]
Crime against children
I read your cover story demanding reopening of schools right away, online. I am an educator who had only six years of uninterrupted schooling. My father was an Indian Army officer and we were transferred to non-family stations every few months. I can avow, with deep regret that broken education, especially in […]
