Maharashtra Class 10 & 12 board exams to be held in April-May

Maharashtra will hold board exams for Class 10, Secondary School Certificate, (SSC) between April 29-May 31 while written exams for Class XII, higher secondary school certificate (HSC) students will be held between April 23 to May 29, 2021. Practical exams for Class XII will be held from April 1 to April 22.

The exam dates for both Class 10 and Class 12 were announced by the state’s education minister, Varsha Gaikwad Thursday evening through social media. While results for Class 10 boards will be announced during the last week of August, HSC results will be announced in the last week of July 2021. “All exams would be conducted in compliance with the COVID-19 norms,” stated the minister.

Board exams which are held between February-March each year has been postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic and subsequent closure of schools. The state education department too has reduced the syllabus by 25 percent to easy the burden on children in the absence of physical classes. While educational institutions continued teaching through online classes during the lockdown, schools and junior colleges across the state were permitted to reopen from November 23 onwards following approvals from the local municipalities and parents.
