Education and technology play a crucial role in the successful implementation of the “Developed India 2047” mission and, Maharashtra will be the first state in India to set up an Artificial Intelligence University, announced Information and Technology Minister Ashish Shelar.
The project will be implemented under the leadership of Higher and Technical Education Minister Chandrakant Patil.
Greeting students on the occasion of World Education Day, Shelar said the Maharastra government’s decision to establish an Artificial Intelligence University “is historic.This university will equip students and youth with the necessary skills for the industrial and technological revolution inspired by the progress of modern technology.
This university will be a hub for cutting-edge research and skill development. It will also prepare Indian youth to lead the global economy based on artificial intelligence ,” he said.
The government will also soon announce the country’s first state-level artificial intelligence and cyber policy and a special task force has been set up for this objective. The policy will be drafted under the leadership of Information and Technology Minister Shelar who lauded Maharashtra for “its commitment to transforming education with the help of technology, and creating opportunities for innovation and skilled manpower.”
