The Ministry of Education will host the Akhil Bhartiya Shiksha Samagam (ABSS) 2025 on Tuesday to mark the fifth anniversary of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. The summit, to be held at Bharat Mandapam, will bring together policymakers, academicians, educators, industry leaders, and government officials to review the policy’s implementation and chart the course ahead.
Union education minister Dharmendra Pradhan will inaugurate the conference, which will focus on enhancing accessibility, practical learning, skill development, and better integration of education with employment.
Key discussion areas include achieving 100% Gross Enrolment Ratio (GER) in secondary education by 2030, promoting Bharatiya Bhasha, integrating technology into classrooms, mainstreaming Indian Knowledge Systems (IKS), and fostering inclusive education.
A senior ministry official noted that over the past five years, NEP 2020 has transformed India’s higher education landscape, fostering flexibility, innovation, and inclusivity. The National Credit Framework (NCrF), adopted by 170 universities, has facilitated seamless credit transfer across academic, vocational, and experiential learning.
ABSS 2025 will also spotlight initiatives such as the use of Indian languages in education, support for Prime Minister’s Research Fellows (PMRF), and the development of Centres of Excellence in AI for education. Discussions will aim to deepen industry-academic partnerships, enhance vocational training pathways, expand digital infrastructure, and integrate sustainability into curricula.
As India’s premier education summit, ABSS 2025 reaffirms the nation’s commitment to equitable, innovative, and future-ready education.
