Monash University has partnered with Manav Rachna International Institute of Research and Studies (MRIIRS) to launch dual bachelor’s degrees in Information Technology and Computer Science.
Under the programme, students will begin their Computer Applications or IT degree at MRIIRS before transferring to Monash to complete two years of study in specialisations such as Business Information Systems, Software Development, Data Science, and Cybersecurity.
Professor Ann Nicholson, dean of Monash University’s Faculty of IT, said the initiative reflects a shared commitment to equipping students with interdisciplinary expertise, innovative thinking, and practical skills to thrive in a rapidly evolving digital landscape. “Our programmes go beyond the classroom, empowering students to address real-world challenges while using technology for social good,” she added.
Sanya Bhalla, executive director, International Affairs and Collaborations at MRIIRS, noted that students will be able to join Monash as early as February 2026. “By blending the strengths of Monash and MRIIRS, we are empowering students with world-class education and an innovation-driven mindset for global leadership,” she said.
Monash University is ranked 36th in the QS World University Rankings 2026 and 40th globally for Data Science and Artificial Intelligence. MRIIRS, accredited NAAC A++, is among 54 Indian institutions featured in the QS 2026 rankings, and holds QS 5-Star ratings across Teaching, Employability, Academic Development, Facilities, Social Responsibility, and Inclusiveness.
