Montfort Senior Secondary School is a co-educational unaided Catholic minority day-school run by the Society of the Brothers of St. Gabriel affiliated with the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). It was established in 1970. Although it is a Christian institution, admission to the school is open to children of all religions. The society, which has its headquarters in Rome and zonal headquarters is in Bhopal, India, runs institutions in 33 countries worldwide. The society runs about 120 institutions including schools, technical training institutes, and orphanages, institutions for the differently abled (deaf, dumb and blind) and homes for the aged.
The society is also engaged in rural development programs and other programs for empowering the urban poor through People’s Initiative Network and Preservation of Environment etc. under the nomenclature of St. Montfort, St. Gabriel, St. Francis, St. Charles etc.
The school’s main building is constructed on a 6.41-acre plot with trees lining the boundary. There are 180 rooms including 56 classrooms, admin offices, five staff rooms and four supervisors’ offices spread on different floors, a large library for the middle and senior classes, a library cum reading room for the primary students, three computer labs and separate labs for physics, chemistry and biology. Two language labs, a room for eco-club, three music rooms, two dance rooms and two auditoriums were the other facilities in the school. The school also has facilities for cricket, basketball, skating and a swimming pool.
The school is affiliated with the Central Board of Secondary Education, Delhi (CBSE). The medium of instruction is English and Hindi is taught as a second language up to class X.
Extracurricular:
Counselling and Career Guidance Cell of the school aims at giving a personal touch to the education process. Parents are requested to interact with the counsellors with prior appointment. This cell helps to monitor and give the right direction to children.

Normally admission is done only at L.K.G. level as no new sections are added in higher classes. Those seeking admission to L.K.G. should be within the age group of three to four years on April 1 of the admission year. Admission to classes other than L.K.G. will depend on vacancies. The merit of the student is the sole criterion for selection. The school does not charge capitation fees. Offers of donation, bringing influence on the management with a view to gain admission, etc., will entail disqualification of the candidate. The registration forms are issued from the school office between 9 am and 12 pm on payment of Rs.25.
The application for admission/registration forms shall be accompanied by an authentic document containing the child’s date of birth. The school accepts birth certificates only from the Corporation or Anchal Panchayat. Affidavit or hospital certificate is not accepted. Date of birth once registered cannot be altered.
