Morning assemblies are an integral part of school routine. The entire staff and student community gather together to spend some time praying, introspecting or meditating. It is the time when everyone sets their intentions for the day ahead, mentally preparing to give their best. It is also a time when the unity and the strength in unity within the school can be observed. Whether joining together to sing the school song or raising their voices in unison for the national anthem, the assembly is the time when many become one.
Vista International School continuously strives to maximise the learning outcomes from any activity, situation or experiences faced by the students. Hence, the morning assembly also received a fresh makeover and a new purpose. To foster a strong sense of nationalism and a spirit of unity among students, the school re-discovered the morning assembly as Mornings@Vista.
Each class and section was assigned a particular Indian state at the beginning of the academic year. And throughout the year, the students of the particular class and section championed their assigned state in the form of artwork, information bulletins and of course, morning assembly. The unique aspects of the state – the language, culture, crafts, music and dance – were brought out for the rest of the school to see and learn from. Thus, Mornings@Vista became the prodigious platform where the students not only got a chance to give wings to their talent on stage, but also spread awareness about our beautiful country and its vast diversity.
As the academic year comes to a close, the Vistaians can proudly look back at this year’s morning assembly as a platform for learning, growth and a medium to bolster cognizance about themselves, their culture and their country.
