Ten new skill development centres have been approved this year in Madhya Pradesh, according to an official release on September 1.
“Ten new skill development centres have been approved this year. It has also been decided to set up language labs in all the government polytechnics and ITIs to develop communication skills,” a senior official in the State Technical Education and Skill Department told media sources in Bhopal.
“Madhya Pradesh is fast emerging as a knowledge hub in the country and special attention was being paid to skill development in the state. In the last decade, there has been a rapid expansion in available opportunities in the field of education and educational institutions,” he said.
At present 12 government and 10 private universities, 342 government colleges, 77 colleges which received grants and 636 private colleges were being run under the Higher Education Department.
“Similarly, under the Technical Education Department, 230 engineering colleges, 77 MCA, 118 pharmacy and 75 polytechnic colleges, 33 ITIs and 113 skill development centres were being run,” he said.
