M.S. Ramaiah College of Arts, Science and Commerce is a part of the Gokula Education Society which was founded by M.S. Ramaiah in 1962. The college is affiliated to Bangalore University and recognized by the Government of Karnataka.
According to a college spokesperson, “M.S. Ramaiah College is committed to giving its students the opportunities to perform and excel. The college also ensures that the students are always a step ahead, by providing an environment with necessary facilities, strong student support and high quality education.”
The college offers various courses in liberal arts, pure and applied sciences, commerce and business at PUC, undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
The building complex housing MS Ramaiah College is known as Jnana Bhavana. The college library has a collection of about 17,000 documents, 350 CD/DVDs, 150 project reports, over 100 bound volumes of journals, thesis and dissertation reports, subscription of 46 print journals, 14 newspapers and 21 general magazines. The library also provides photocopying facilities, audio and videotapes to the faculty and students.
The college has a spacious auditorium to conduct various activities like seminars, conferences and cultural programs. The computer department has three labs with 40 computers, printers and other peripherals connected to the network.
The college has separate courts for games like cricket, basketball, football, hockey and athletics. There are also facilities for indoor games like carrom, chess and table tennis within the campus.
