On June 15, Muktangan – a pioneering education initiative of Mumbai based Paragon Charitable Trust – announced the stellar performance of its students in the Maharashtra SSC Board Exam 2017-18.
This year for the very first time, 10th graders from all seven Muktangan schools wrote the board exams and have made their teachers and parents proud with their excellent results. Key highlights of the board results are:
– Out of a total of 222 Muktangan students who wrote the board exam, 221 passed with 78 percent securing a first class and above.
– The pass percentage for the batch is 99.5 and the average total mark scored by the entire batch is 71 percent.
– One in six students have scored 90 and above in Mathematics.
The toppers who deserve special mention for setting a new record for Muktangan are Roja Ambati who topped the batch with a total score of 96.8 percent and Mamta Jalgaonkar who secured the second highest with a total score of 94.4 percent.
Comments an elated Roja, “I believe hard work is the key to success…I was always taught (at Muktangan) not to compete with other but to compete with oneself. The lion’s share of my success goes to my school, management and teachers who nurtured my talent with utmost love, care and dedication.”
An initiative of Paragon Charitable Trust, Muktangan is a pioneering educational programme with an innovative model, that works in close partnership with the Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai and a number of NGOs across India.
