
N.L. DalmiaHigh School, Thane was founded on July 4, 1991 by the Niranjanlal Dalmia Education Society with the objective of providing and promoting excellence in education. It is an unaided, co-educational, English medium school affiliated with the Council of the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE), New Delhi.
The school aims to develop creativity, innovation, and sel-learning skills among students. Value-based education is a focus area.
The motto of the school is ‘Enlightenment through Knowledge.’
The school boasts an air-conditioned library with over 11,100 resource books and over 450 educational CDs. Well-equipped science, computer, audio-visual, math and social science labs are provided. In addition, there is a multi-activity room, where students can learn music, dance, art and yoga. There is also an infirmary, cafeteria, technology and seminar hall.
The school is affiliated to the CISCE, New Delhi. A variety of teaching strategies and aids are used, making learning a rich experience. In the primary section, student number is limited to 40 to ensure individual attention to students. Some classes are fitted with LCD monitors. Value-based education is incorporated in the curriculum.
Extracurricular:
Coaching is provided in Bharathnatyam, speech, drama and Western classical music. Students work on a monthly newsletter to develop their writing skills. They take part in quiz competitions, debates, story-telling, drawing and singing. Sports activities include gymnastics, yoga, skating, badminton, table tennis, karate, volleyball, football, cricket and chess.
