Placement
The NIFT has a centralised placement process. Companies can employ students from any campus or course of the institute through two routes which are facilitated by the institute:
On Campus Placements: Companies can register for campus placements. Upon being given a confirmed time and date, they may come to the campus for the placement procedure.
Pre-Placement Offers (PPO): Companies can extend a job offer to students before the on-campus placement. Acceptance of the offer is considered as job placement.
NIFT Mumbai placements have top designers as well as companies from FMCG, journalism and media background. Some of the top organisations are Amore Magazine, Artex Apparel, Arvind Lt, Bata India, Blackberries, Decathlon, Monte Carlo.
The NIFT entrance exam is three-tiered in its format for BDes and MDes course admissions. As part of the NIFT entrance exam 2021 for BDes and MDes admissions, candidates have to first appear for Creative Ability Test (CAT) and General Ability Test (GAT).
For admission in NIFT BFTech aspirants should have completed their Class 12 from a recognised board wherein they have studied subjects such as Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. Candidates should have secured passing marks in their Class 12 exam.
Undergraduate admission:
Candidates can apply to the college through the NIFT Entrance Exam conducted by the authority. Candidates must pass the 12th level examination from any recognised board. Maximum age limit for general candidates is 23 years as on 1st October, 2021.
Postgraduate admission:
Candidates should have undergraduate degree in any discipline from any recognised institute/university. For admission in NIFT MFTech aspirants should have pursued BFTech course at the undergraduate level to be eligible for MFTech course admissions. There is no age limit for NIFT admission in MFTech course.
Fees
Total fee for undergraduate courses in NIFT Mumbai is Rs.12,84,900. For two-years postgraduate programmes total fee is Rs.5,81,400. For artisans or children of artisans total fee for B Des courses is Rs.10,85,000.

NIFT Mumbai successfully conducted ‘6th Handloom Day Celebrations’ in 2020 to promote the exquisite skill of weavers and artisan communities among the urban consumers through NIFT Social media campaign.
NIFT provides accommodation to girl students within the campus. The hostels are equipped with modern furniture and fixtures. Each hostel room houses a bed, mattresses, study table, chair and wardrobes. The hostel provides pantry, medical room, 24 hours hot and cold water facilities, lady warden, Doctor on call and 24 hours security.
