The National Public School, Indiranagar is a co-educational day school affiliated with the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). The school was established in 1982 under the chairmanship of Dr. K P Gopalkrishna and is part of the National Public School group of schools. The school is particularly well-reputed for its academic rigour.
The school provides a large auditorium and well-equipped science and math laboratories and a computer laboratory with computing facilities for over 80 students. The school also has AV rooms, a smart boardroom, a library and a resource room.
The playground has a fountain that is used for outdoor class discussions, a drinking water facility and a stage for conducting extracurricular activities. Sports facilities at NPS Indiranagar include basketball, volleyball, badminton, gymnastics, cricket, football, throw ball, aerobics, taekwondo and yoga.
The school is equipped to handle everyday medical/first-aid issues. Fire extinguishers have been installed at strategic locations. The school conducts fire drills and the district fire brigade visits the school every year to educate students about fire safety.
The CBSE affiliated school offers the Montessori and Kindergarten systems at the junior levels. At the senior secondary level (class XI onwards), students are offered science (PCMB or PCMCs) or commerce (with the option of mathematics or history) courses. Each grade level has three sections comprising no more than 40 students each (although this varies for class XI science class).
Hindi is taught from class I as a second language, while Sanskrit is taught from Class V as a third language. In Class IX, students have the option of studying either Hindi or Sanskrit as a second language. Kannada is not part of the curriculum at any stage.
Extracurricular activities like training in taekwondo, music, dance, aerobics and theatre are conducted under the guidance of professionals after school hours.

Admission is open to all children from kindergarten, grades II to IX and XI. Admissions to grades II to IX and grade XI are based on performance in the written admission test conducted in April/May. Admission is granted only on merit and availability of seats.
The school produces excellent results in the AISSE (All India Senior School Certificate Examination) for grade XII and in AISSE (All India Secondary School Examination) for grade X every year with the highest aggregates often crossing 98 percent.
NPS Indiranagar has been ranked second and third respectively, in the survey conducted by Times of India for CBSE Curriculum and Online Teaching.
Other student achievements include the Gold award at the Indian Science and Engineering Fair and the subsequent selection of gold medallist Siddhant Attavar of Class X to represent India at the Genius Olympiad 2021 and the Global Science and Technology Bowl 2021, Hong Kong.
No accommodation facilities are provided as NPS Indiranagar is a day-school.
