The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has directed all its 28,490 affiliated schools to adopt the National Curriculum Framework for Foundational Stage (NCFFS) 2022 developed by the National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) and released in October 2022. The Delhi-based CBSE via its official website, cbse.gov.in, published an exclusive circular outlining suggestions for implementing NCFFS 2022.
Under NCFFS, schools will have to implement 3 years of pre-primary schooling, for five years of foundational education. There will be an additional class along with a nursery and KG programme at the pre-primary level, while class 1 and class 2 will be introduced in pre-primary level. To adhere the recommendations of the NCFFS 22, all schools are required to follow the new structure of five years of early childhood education.
