NEET 2020: Safety measures for students by NTA

'Centre to spend Rs 3 lakh crore under NEP'

As over 15 lakh UG medical aspirants are preparing to write National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) 2020 scheduled for September 13, elaborate measures will be taken by National Testing Agency (NTA), to keep students safe while they appear for the exam during the current pandemic.

NEET candidates are required to strictly follow the safety guidelines and bring a self-declaration mentioning their health status and recent travel history.

The candidates need to carry to the exam hall the following things: NEET 2020 admit card, print out of self-declaration form in A4 size paper, a copy of the passport sized photograph used on the application form, a valid photo ID, personal hand sanitiser (50 ml), a transparent water bottle for personal use, mask and gloves, certificate for PwD candidates and scribe-related documents if any.

However, they are not permitted to bring any extra personal belongings to the NEET exam hall, which includes handbags, smartphones, smartwatches, jewellery, hats, etc.

Candidates are not allowed to wear closed footwear, which includes shoes. They can wear slippers and sandals with low heels. They have to wear light clothes with half sleeves. Long sleeves are not permitted. If any candidate wears a specific attire for religious or other reasons, they should report to the exam hall early for mandatory frisking.

Further, in order to avoid confusion on exam day, candidates are advised to visit the NEET exam centre one day before the exam.

The self-declaration form has to be filled in by NEET candidates and signed in front of the invigilator at the exam venue.

Scribes of candidates who have some disability need to bring their own self-declaration forms too

Once the exam is over, the candidate can only take away the test booklet. They will need to submit their admit card and OMR sheet (both original and office copies) to the invigilator.
