NEET PG 2024: NBEMS Advisory for Joining Process through AIQ 2024

With the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) releasing the provisional results for NEET PG Counselling 2024 Round 1 on Tuesday, the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) has released an advisory for students opting for seats allotted through NEET PG All India Quota (AIQ) 2024 Counselling.

The advisory includes instructions on joining procedures and documentation, medical training and reporting requirements, fee payment and submission procedures, refund policies, among other important details.

The advisory recommends that all candidates carefully check the seat matrix, which is made available on the official website of MCC, https://mcc.nic.in/, for each specific round.

“Candidates who wish to report and join NBEMS seats are required to complete the joining formalities at NBEMS Online Portal for Joining and Registration (OPJR) before reporting to the training institute/hospital,” states the official notice.

The notification covers the following key details.

Requirements for Medical Training and Reporting

After completing the joining formalities, candidates assigned NBEMS seats must report to the medical training institutions they have been assigned to. It is mandatory to go through a medical examination performed by the Medical Board. Candidates will be allowed to enrol in the course only if they pass this test.

Fee Payment and Submission Guidelines

Once the joining formalities have been completed on the NBEMS Online Portal for Joining and Registration (OPJR), candidates must pay the first-year annual course fee online within the reporting window, as specified in the counselling schedule.

Course Fee Refund Policy

Candidates who choose to upgrade their seat in later rounds, are eligible for a refund of the annual course fee, if their initial seat is retained. However, the fee will be forfeited if a candidate withdraws or does not participate, and the seat is not re-assigned in subsequent rounds. Refunds will be processed within six months after the completion of all counselling rounds.

Documentation and Joining Process

Candidates must present the necessary original documentation for verification when they report to their institutions. They will be allowed to enrol in the course after verification.

Training Start Dates and Reporting Windows

Candidates must begin training on the scheduled dates without any extensions, unless approved by NBEMS. The training commences from the date of joining the allotted seat.
