NEET PG exam fee for candidates of all categories reduced by Rs 750

January 31, 2024

An official announcement has been made regarding a notable revision in the fee structure for the upcoming NEET PG examination. The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) has decided to implement a reduction in the examination fee by a significant amount – specifically, a noteworthy decrease of Rs 750. This strategic decision is aimed at extending financial relief to the numerous candidates participating in the NEET PG examinations under its jurisdiction.

Effective from January 1, 2024, this reduction in the examination fee will be applicable to all candidates submitting their application forms after this pivotal date. It is noteworthy that the revised fee structure not only signifies a positive development for prospective candidates but also represents a reduction below the application fee charged in 2013.

Delving into the specifics, the application fee for candidates falling under the general and OBC categories in 2013 was Rs 3,750. This amount underwent incremental increases over the years, reaching Rs 4,250 in 2021. However, with the recent decision, this fee has been revised to a more favorable Rs 3,500, effective from January 1, 2024.

Similarly, for candidates belonging to the SC, ST, and PWD categories, the application fee in 2013 was Rs 2,750. Over subsequent years, this amount was subject to adjustments and incrementally increased to Rs 3,250 in 2021. The recent decision to reduce the fee structure has brought this down to a more reasonable Rs 2,500.

This proactive step taken by the NBEMS not only underscores a commitment to financial accessibility for candidates but also aligns with a broader trend in education to enhance inclusivity and affordability for a diverse group of examination participants.
