New NEP to enhance younger generation’s education: Union MoS Yadav

Union Minister of State for Education, Annpurna Devi Yadav, emphasized the Centre’s readiness to address any concerns related to the implementation of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. During her two-day visit to Nagaland, she highlighted the importance of teaching children in their mother tongue to enhance subject comprehension.

NEP 2020 focuses on introducing vocational courses from the sixth standard, offering flexibility in course selection at the graduation level, and emphasizing research. Yadav affirmed the government’s commitment to the overall progress of the northeast region, emphasizing Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s dedication to development initiatives for the region.

She commended the adoption of central government schemes by the BJP-NDPP coalition government in Nagaland, particularly for women’s upliftment and the preservation of tradition and culture. During her visit, Yadav reviewed centrally sponsored schemes in Tseminyu and discussed various issues, including the shortage of manpower in the school education department and the establishment of Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya. She also met with Governor La Ganesan before departing for the national capital on Thursday.
