The Minister of Human Resource Development Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank announced the dates for JEE Main and NEET exams on Tuesday, May 5 in a live video. While the JEE Main will be held from July 18 to 23, the medical entrance exam NEET will be conducted on July 26. The JEE Advanced is expected to be held in August, dates are yet to be decided.
Pokhriyal also added that the CBSE class 10 and 12 examination dates will also be announced within next two days. Exams will be held for important subjects that will be needed for college admissions of the students.

The HRD minister also said that online classes are available on 32 DTH channels on TV along with Tata Sky and Dish TV that can be used by the rural students to continue their studies at home even if they do not have access to an internet connection.
He assured that shops selling school books have been allowed to open in the lockdown and students waiting for the new academic session can continue their studies at home. NCERT books were available online for free download.
HRD Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal said that because of the education problems caused due to Covid-19, the governement had taken the decision to reduce the academic syllabus for the upoming session to reduce students’ education pressure.
The pending college exams will be conducted in July and the new session will start off from August.
