Six individuals, including a minor, were arrested in Cuttack, Odisha, for allegedly gang-raping a 19-year-old college student and filming the assaults.
The victim reported the incident to the police, claiming that her boyfriend, along with a café owner, recorded their intimate acts during her birthday celebration at the café. The suspects then blackmailed her with the footage, and she was raped multiple times.
Police have recovered the videos from the perpetrators’ phones and sent them for forensic analysis to aid in the investigation. The arrested individuals face serious charges, including gang rape, blackmail, and exploitation.
The police have acted swiftly to ensure justice and are continuing their investigation. The arrest of the accused has brought attention to the dangers of cybercrime and blackmail, and the case has raised awareness of the vulnerability of individuals to such exploitation in social settings.
