ODM Educational Group has partnered with UK-based Cyber Square to introduce a coding and artificial intelligence (AI) curriculum across its schools, starting from Grade 1. As the first educational group in Odisha to implement this program, ODM aims to equip students with essential tech skills from an early age.
Formalized through a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), the initiative replaces traditional computer literacy courses with an advanced curriculum designed to prepare students for future job markets.
“Early exposure to technology is key to preparing students for the future,” said Swoyan Satyendu, CEO of ODM Educational Group. “This program will help students transition from technology users to creators while giving them opportunities to interact with peers from the USA, Canada, and the UK.”
Developed after three months of evaluation, the curriculum integrates coding and AI into existing subjects through an interactive learning platform. Cyber Square, a Guinness World Record holder in digital education, will oversee the implementation.
Dr. Satyabrata Minaketan, Chairman of ODM Educational Group, emphasized the importance of this shift: “Students need more than basic computer skills. They need to become innovators and problem solvers in a tech-driven world.”
The program goes beyond coding basics, focusing on critical thinking and real-world problem-solving. Over two years, students will work on projects that help them develop and prototype new ideas. The initiative also offers international opportunities, allowing students to showcase their work at global events and collaborate with peers worldwide.
“Coding and AI are essential skills for future careers,” added Satyendu. “By introducing them early, we are giving our students a strong advantage.”
Cyber Square CEO NP Haris shared his perspective: “Integrating coding and AI from the foundational years fosters innovation and critical thinking. This aligns well with ODM’s vision for digital education.”
While the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 introduces coding from Grade 6, ODM has taken the initiative five years earlier to give its students a head start.
The rollout includes teacher training, curriculum updates, and specialized coding platforms. The program has received positive feedback from students and parents.
Shruti Acharya, a student at ODM Global School, Bhubaneswar, shared her thoughts: “Coding helps us think logically and solve problems creatively. This program makes learning fun and engaging.”
With this initiative, ODM Educational Group aims to set a new standard for tech education in Odisha, preparing students for a digital-first future.
