Our Lady Queen of Missions School, Kolkata is an all girls day school affiliated with the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examination (CISCE), New Delhi and is a member of the Association of the Anglo Indian Schools in India. Founded on August 1, 1946, with five students, it boasts 2000 students from Nursery through class X today. The school also has another branch at Salt Lake. In 1968, the school started a free school for less privileged girls from nursery to class VIII.
The school endeavors to develop the intellectual, moral and spiritual potential of its students, helping them to develop into well rounded personalities with self esteem and positive values. The school strives to expand the students’ mental horizons by promoting and strengthening intercultural experiences and instilling in them the awareness of equality, social justice and world peace.
The school campus hosts a well-stocked library, well-equipped labs, spacious classrooms, conference hall, canteen and a playground.
The school follows the ICSE curriculum with English as the medium of instruction and Bengali and Hindi are taught as second languages. The school follows a thematic approach from Nursery to class X through group learning experience, exploration, discovery and experimentation. The school develops basic skills of communication through speaking, writing, reading, calculating and creative art. It encourages scientific and methodical learning through observation, classification, estimation, analytical reasoning and cause-effect relationships. Social skills of wholesome interaction with their peers are inculcated through co-operation, sharing and mutual respect.
Extracurricular
Extracurricular activities include Indian classical dance, music, art, debate, drama, games, quiz, and physical training. Value education and lessons on moral conduct are an integral part of the school’s curriculum.
Students are offered opportunities to participate in Leadership Training Service, Guides and Bulbuls, Young Christian Students, story club, dramatics club, nature club, quiz and debate club, art & craft club and ‘go as you like’ club.
Sports include athletics, basketball, volleyball, badminton, tennis, carrom and chess.

Application forms can be downloaded from the school website. The child should be minimum 4 years old for admission in Nursery.
A photocopy copy of the child’s birth certificate must be enclosed along with the filled in application form and must be submitted to the school within the date stipulated. The list of selected candidates is put up on the school notice board following the application screening process.

Being a day school, the school does not provide accommodation facility.
