Over 1550 ITI students in Berhampur secure campus placements

An official announced that over 1,550 students from Odisha government-run Industrial Training Institute (ITI) Berhampur secured placements in this year’s campus recruitment drive. Notably, female students excelled in the drive, with 404 girls out of 1,566 students across various trades securing jobs in 18 companies before completing their final examinations.

The job offer distribution took place at an event held at ITI on Monday, attended virtually by Usha Padhee, Principal Secretary of the Skill Development Department, Reghu G, Director of Technical Education, and representatives from the participating companies.

The campus recruitment drive, named ‘Locking the Talent-2024,’ spanned 20 days and concluded on Friday. Out of around 1,800 participating students, 1,566 were selected for positions in various companies, surpassing the figures from the previous year, according to Rajat Kumar Panigrahy, the Principal of ITI Berhampur.

In a notable achievement, 32 students from the institute secured positions with a Dubai-based company. The principal highlighted that in 2023, approximately 1,170 students, including 170 girls, secured jobs, while in 2022, a total of 1,404 students, including 110 girls, were selected through campus recruitment.
