On Saturday, more than 2 million parents, whose children attend government schools, actively participated in the statewide mega parent-teacher meeting (PTM), as reported by officials. Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains acknowledged the receipt of valuable suggestions from parents during the meeting, which took place at 19,109 schools from 10 am to 3.30 pm, according to an official statement.
Government schools throughout the state were adorned on Saturday to warmly welcome parents for the mega PTM organized by the state education department, and alongside, book exhibitions were also conducted, as stated by officials.
In their interactions with the parents of students, teachers provided information about the state’s initiatives such as Mission Saksham and Mission 100%, in addition to discussing student attendance policies and new admissions at their respective schools, as detailed in the release.
Some parents expressed gratitude for the initiatives introduced by the Bhagwant Mann government, including ‘business blasters,’ campus manager deployment, among others, as highlighted in the statement. They also praised the Punjab government for the heightened security measures implemented in schools, according to the additional information provided.
