Peepul is a non-profit organization focused on improving government school education in India. The organization operates eight large-scale programs in Delhi and Madhya Pradesh, impacting nearly 1 crore students and 3.25 lakh teachers in over 1 lakh schools.

Research highlights significant gaps in the Indian government schooling system: only 43% of Grade 5 students in government schools have basic reading skills, and only 26% can solve basic arithmetic problems.

Key Results from Peepul’s Programs:

• In Delhi, Peepul’s high-engagement teaching practices were implemented in 1,500 MCD schools, leading to learning gains of 18% to 45% in Grade 3 students.
• In Madhya Pradesh, Peepul’s professional development program for teachers in CM RISE schools resulted in improved learning outcomes, ranging from 10% to 60% higher compared to non-CM RISE schools.
• In three model schools in Delhi, students showed, on average, five times better learning outcomes compared to students in government schools.
• Some of Peepul’s schools now have admission waitlists, and schools in Delhi and Madhya Pradesh were recently recognized by the World’s Best School Prizes platform.
