The Grand Finale of Pentathon 2024, organized by NCIIPC in partnership with AICTE at Amity University, Noida, began with Mr. Navin Kumar Singh, IPS, Director General of NCIIPC, outlining the initiative’s aim to nurture India’s cybersecurity talent. He emphasized a long-term strategy focused on indigenous cybersecurity solutions and nurturing startups capable of global service provision.
Over 48 hours, selected participants from technical institutions nationwide will confront real-world cybersecurity challenges, aiming to pinpoint vulnerabilities and devise effective countermeasures. The competition serves as a platform for participants to showcase their skills and expertise in cybersecurity, contributing to the enhancement of India’s cybersecurity resilience.
Out of 8000 initial participants, only top teams compete for prizes and recognition for real-world Vulnerability Assessment and Penetration Testing (VAPT). The rigorous selection process ensures that only the most talented individuals and teams advance to this stage, highlighting the elite caliber of participants.
Dr. Abhay Jere, Vice Chairman of AICTE, expressed gratitude to NCIIPC for spearheading the initiative and provided valuable advice to participants on seizing the unique learning opportunities presented by Pentathon 2024. He emphasized the importance of continuous skill development in cybersecurity and its relevance to national development.
Dr. Balvinder Shukla, Vice Chancellor of Amity University Uttar Pradesh, conveyed pride in hosting Pentathon, emphasizing its role in fostering an innovation culture and addressing national challenges. Amity University is dedicated to providing state-of-the-art infrastructure and support services to ensure participants have a productive and enriching experience throughout the competition.
The Grand Finale will conclude with a ceremony on April 4th, 2024, honoring exceptional performers for their contributions to bolstering India’s cybersecurity resilience. Participants will be recognized not only for their technical prowess but also for their creativity, teamwork, and problem-solving abilities, which are vital skills in the ever-evolving field of cybersecurity.
