Perspectico – a Delhi University backed ed-tech startup that helps youngsters make informed career choices – and New Delhi based Rajdhani College recently hosted a workshop for students on skills required to crack a job interview. The workshop helped the students to understand the intricacies of job interviews from organisation perspective along with their needs. The workshop provided students an insight into the new types of interviews such as unstructured interviews which are becoming increasingly popular today. This type of interview does not employ standardised, predetermined questions; rather it is more like an open-ended, free-flowing conversation led by the interviewer, who decides what to ask as the interview progresses.
Job interviews are an inseparable part of a student when he or she steps into the working world. With the growing competition and the ever changing nature of work environments, job interviews today are a complex process. They comprise multiple rounds to test whether a student is capable of working in different conditions. In each round, a student faces different challenges which requires proper and effective guidance.
Comments Nikhil Chainani, founder & CEO, Perspectico, “The session will guide the students to understand in greater depth the complex structure of interviews and how to deal with gritty situations in an interview like ‘no response’. The students were also provided with more details on interviews, group discussions and an almost perfect resume.”
The workshop further emphasised on the few critical aspects of a job interview such as how to steer the conversations with the interviewer, the common mistakes students make, how to tackle interviews, etc.
Says Sanchit Chopra, who is pursuing his second year B.Com (H), “Here in college, we are imparted the knowledge required for a particular course according to the curriculum. What we miss out on, which is very important after college, is how to prepare for an interview. The forum provided us with valuable insights of interviews and how to prepare for them smartly and effectively”.
Incepted in 2017, Perspectico is an ed-tech platform that assists youngsters in making better and more informed career decisions and helps them become job ready.
