NEET-UG 2022: Delhi HC dismisses plea to postpone exam

A plea has been filed in Delhi High Court to postpone NEET-UG 2022 undergraduate medical entrance examination whose admit cards were released yesterday. NEET 2022 postponement demands have resurfaced again on social media with #neetug2022postpone.

As per a report in Live Law, the plea filed in Delhi High Court also seeks an extra attempt at NEET-UG 2022 exam, apart from NEET postponement. According to further reports, it is expected that the case may be mentioned on an urgent listing tomorrow itself. Advocate Mamata Sharma mentioned it for urgent listing. 

#NEETUG2022Postponement and #PostponeNEETUG2022 have trended on social media on many occasions. Several campaigns were taken out hoping to get the examination postponed.

The exam is scheduled to be held offline on July 17. Around 18 lakh candidates have registered for the exam which will be conducted across 546 cities throughout the country and 14 cities outside India.

For quite sometime now, students have been demanding NEET-UG be postponed to which the education ministry did not respond. Social media, specially Twitter has been flooded with posts like #postponeNEETUG2022 and #JUSTICEforNEETUG and #RemoveDharmendraPradhan. They have even gone to the extent of mentioning on social media platforms that these students will not give a single vote to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) if the Education Ministry does not postpone the examination.

Recently at an event, education minister Dharmendra Pradhan too announced that there are less chances of NEET-UG 2022 getting postponed.
