Principal suspended in Lucknow over Namaz in school

Guj: Videos of namaz inside varsity campus in Vadodara spark row, VHP alleges conspiracy

Officials announced on Sunday that the principal of a primary school located in the Thakurganj area was suspended after a video circulating on social media depicted some students engaging in the act of offering namaz within the school premises. Additionally, two teachers from the same school received warnings.

The suspension and warnings followed protests by Hindu organizations against the school administration on Saturday, prompting an official investigation into the matter. Basic Siksha Adhikari Arun Kumar, in a statement addressing the issue, stated, “We received information that unidentified individuals were involved in activities unrelated to teaching at the Primary School on Napier Road. Teachers have confirmed that some children participated in namaz on Friday, which goes against departmental directives and guidelines.”

Kumar further explained that Block Education Officer Dinesh Katiyar conducted an investigation into the matter. Based on the findings of the probe, School Principal Meera Yadav was immediately suspended on Saturday under the Uttar Pradesh Government Servant (Discipline and Appeal) Rules-1999. Teachers Tehzeen Fatima and Mamta Mishra were issued strict warnings for their involvement in the incident, he added.
