A research-oriented and employment-oriented education system will be developed by incorporating information related to Maharashtra in the NCERT curriculum, School Education Minister Dadaji Bhuse said in Mumbai on Tuesday. The Minister who is also Chairman of the ‘Textbook Board’ was reviewing the work of the Maharashtra State Textbook Production and Curriculum Research Board at a meeting held at the Balbharati premises at Prabhadevi in Mumbai.
Bal Bharati is sourced for employment-oriented curriculum books on agriculture, arts and sports among other subjects. Mr. Bhuse suggested that the curriculum text books be directly delivered to schools in the various talukas ( districts) and that Balbharati should be computerised and spend funds on educational activities.
A book on German language learning was also released by Mr. Bhuse at the meeting which was attended by Balbharati Director Krishnakumar Patil and Principal Secretary Ranjitsinh Deol among others. School Education Commissioner Sachindra Pratap Singh, and ‘SCERT’ Director Dr. Rahul Rekhawar attended through video conferencing.
