The department has not designated any official to approve of when schools wish to move from one building to another in Karnataka, the Karnataka Registered Unaided Private Schools Association (KRUPA) lamented.
In a letter addressed to the principal secretary of the department of school education and literacy, they said that private schools had several unaddressed issues.
“Schools must intimate the department of education whenever we move to a different building or campus. Out of greed to get bribes channelized to them, officials in the education department are unwilling to designate anyone for this task. This leaves private school managements running from pillar to post seeking approval,” said T Lokesh, president, KRUPA.
KRUPA also sought to address various pending issues on challenges schools are encountering while seeking renewal of registration, availing NOCs from various departments such as PWD and fire. It may be recollected that private school managements have been highlighting these challenges for several years now.
The private school’s association also sought timely reimbursement from the government for RTE seats.
