P.S. Senior Secondary School, Chennai is a coeducational day school affiliated with the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), New Delhi. The school was promoted on June 9, 1976 with an aim to cater to the educational needs of the public in south Chennai, particularly the employees of central government and industrial houses.
The school was granted permanent affiliation by the CBSE on April 1, 1987 and offers education from pre-kindergarten to class XII. P.S. Secondary School started with 265 students and 13 teachers and today boasts student strength of 3100 and faculty strength of 180.
The school aims at “imparting holistic education by promoting and nourishing a wide range of capacities and skills”. Pursuit of excellence with sincerity is main purpose which the school stands for.
The school sprawls over a 3.2-acre campus with a playground at its center; the 10,000 square meter playground includes a badminton court, three volleyball and throw ball courts, and a basketball court.
The classrooms are spacious and comfortably furnished. The art center comprises of a large spacious hall for yoga and dance classes and exclusive halls for conducting music (vocal and instrumental), drawing and craft classes.
The school hosts a fully equipped spacious English language activity centre for classes I to VIII, five audio visual rooms to enable computer aided teaching, two computer labs and a well equipped math lab for classes I – X.
The air-conditioned lecture hall has a seating capacity of 150 for hosting lectures, workshops and in-service programs. The school offers an open auditorium with fully equipped audio system and a seating capacity of 400 members. The school also hosts a fully equipped KG activity room, and a large exclusive examination hall to accommodate 150 students.
The main library is fully computerized and hosts a collection of 20,000 books including fiction, non-fiction and reference books and a subscription to 25 journals. The junior library features a collection of 5000 books and the KG library features a stock of 1000 books.
The teacher resource centre offers internet enabled computers with broadband connection to help teachers enhance their teaching activities.
P.S. Senior Secondary School follows the curriculum prescribed by the CBSE and offers education from pre primary to class XII.
The school has signed an MoU with the Great Lakes Institute of Management, Chennai for a certificate program for students of class XI to promote the dissemination of management education and the spirit of entrepreneurship. The Young Leaders Program is spread over 18 months across 200 hours of learning. The program is conducted under the expert guidance of faculty who are industry experts. Students also receive hands on exposure to processes in entrepreneurship.
Extracurricular: P.S. Senior Secondary School encourages sports activities such as badminton, volleyball, throw ball, basketball court and indoor sports like chess and table tennis.

22 students of class XII, P.S. Senior Secondary School (2012 Science Group, who qualified as the top 1% in AISSCE March 2012) were recipients of the merit scholarship awarded by the Department of Science and Technology ,Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of India.
P.S. Senior Secondary School has been accredited with the British Council’s ‘International School Award’ from June 2012 to 2015.
