Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann distributed appointment letters to 5,714 anganwadi workers from the social security, women, and child development department on Wednesday. Mann emphasized the significant role anganwadi workers play in the comprehensive development of children, addressing a gathering at a ceremony held at Guru Nanak Dev University campus.

On the occasion of Raksha Bandhan, an anganwadi worker tied a ‘rakhi’ on the chief minister’s wrist. Mann reassured the workers that the state government would continue to initiate measures for their well-being to ensure they face no difficulties in performing their duties.

Mann also highlighted the Punjab government’s accomplishment of providing employment to over 35,000 youths in a transparent and merit-based recruitment process. He stressed the empowerment of women and girls in various domains, expressing the government’s commitment to expand educational and employment opportunities for them.

Sharing a personal touch, Mann mentioned that his mother resides in their native village in Sangrur and it has been more than 40 days since he last met her. Despite this, he remains dedicated to serving Punjab, considering all elderly women in the state as his mother and cherishing their blessings.

He emphasized that his mother feels proud witnessing his efforts to engage with villages, connect with the elderly, and work diligently for the state’s welfare, restoring its former glory.
