A government primary school teacher in Punjab’s Fazilka district has been suspended following the circulation of a video on social media that purportedly shows him physically assaulting a student in the classroom.

The district education officer took immediate action upon viewing the video and suspended the teacher. The incident is reported to have occurred in the Abohar area of the district.

In the video, the teacher is seen striking a class 3 student and holding a stick. Deputy Commissioner (Fazilka) Senu Duggal expressed her strong stance against such actions, emphasizing that child abuse cannot be tolerated and promptly ordered an inquiry.
