Rajagiri Public School (RPS), Kalamassey is a coeducational day school affiliated with the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). The school’s mission is to “form leaders who will champion the cause of justice, love, truth and peace and who are ever open to further growth.”
To deliver the school’s objective of delivering ‘education for complete living’, the school encourages participation of students in a number of social activities, cultural and art programmes, sports activities, and a host of extra-curricular activities. The school offers state-of-the-art academic facilities including a special kindergarten park with a waterpool and splash pool, computer lab and library, and an English lab.
RPS was promoted in 1994 by the Carmelites of Mary Immaculate (CMI) of the Sacred Heart Province in Rajagiri, Kalamassery, Cochin, Kerala.
The school provides modern academic facilities including an English language lab, computer lab, student’s support centre, guidance cell, science labs, math lab and a library. Sports facilities include a standard swimming pool, a standard-sized football ground, three basketball courts, three shuttle badminton courts and table tennis room.
The kindergarten section features a ball pool, an activity room with a TV system, VCD player and music system, and a kindergarten park that is designed in the form of a ‘theyam’. The park hosts a waterfall, splash pool, artistically designed merry-go-round, slides and swings.
The computer lab has been customized for children with a large collection of CDs. The library also has a wide range of books.
The school follows the CBSE curriculum from class I-class XII. It offers a positive educational experience by combining in-class and out-of-class learning. Additionally, it also has after-school coaching and summer coaching classes.
Co-curricular activities
The students participate in hockey, basketball, football, tennis, table tennis and other sports, and have won a number of accolades for the school.
All students from classes’ I-IV are required to take dance classes. It is also offered as one of the optional subjects for classes I and II. Students of class I are taught folk dance steps and students of class II learn both basic classical steps (Thattadavu) and folk dance steps. Students of classes V to VIII can choose dance, music or art.
The art and craft department caters to classes I to XII. Special training in fine art is provided. Craftwork with paper, jute, ribbon, and wool as well as training in needle craft and clay modeling are also taught.

Rajagiri Public School was awarded The International School Award by the British Council in 2009-2010.
The school won the ‘Overall Championship Trophy’ in the Ernakulam District Roller Hockey Championship 2011, the ‘Overall First Ever Rolling Trophy’ in the Prateeksha Overall Championship 2011, the Laherein Overall Championship 2011 and the Vox Populi Overall Championship 2011.
