Overview

Founded in 2009, Redbricks School, Ahmedabad is a coeducational day school in the process of being affiliated with the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE), New Delhi and University of Cambridge International Examinations (CIE), UKI.

The school was promoted by Renita Handa and Aditya Handa, founders of Redbricks Education which is a part of The Abellon Group. The school maintains an excellent teacher student ratio.

The total campus area is ~6 acres.

Campus

The combined campus area is ~6 acres, spread across two locations. The school campus hosts separate blocks for primary, middle and high school. The school boasts a well-stocked library, well-equipped labs for science and computers, canteen and activity rooms.

The school operates across two campuses and houses 42 classrooms, two ICT labs, two performance arts rooms, one visual arts room, a library with dedicated reading spaces, a large multi-purpose hall for indoor activities and sports, and an open-air auditorium. Altogether, there are 40 designated spaces supporting holistic education. All classrooms are equipped with provisions for AV-enabled teaching, which can be utilised as required. The ICT labs are specially designed as separate facilities from regular classrooms, while the performing arts rooms are built with advanced acoustics and instrument setups to enhance the learning experience.

In addition, the school boasts extensive outdoor sports infrastructure, including facilities for football, track and field, badminton, pickleball, and volleyball. For younger children, specially designed playgrounds are located near preschool and primary classrooms to facilitate small-group and circle activities. Preschoolers also benefit from engaging amenities such as a splash pool, swings, rope climbing structures, and other recreational features tailored to their developmental needs.

Academics

The school textbooks are creative, application-oriented and align with the requirements of the CBSE, CISCE and CIE boards and are further supplemented by materials developed by the school’s in-house academic team.

The school’s excellent teacher student ratio ensures individual attention to each child.

The school avoids burdening the students with homework and occasional activity-oriented assignments are given for reinforcement at home even in higher classes; time is provided within the school schedule to do self-guided assignments. Extra academic support is provided at the school if the need is identified between the parents, teachers, and principal and external tuitions are not allowed.

At Redbricks, the Indian curriculum is delivered through globally relevant pedagogical methods such as inquiry-based learning, enabling students to develop culturally relevant knowledge, deeper understanding, and critical thinking skills. The stage-wise approach is as follows:

  • Preschool: Focus on play-based, age-appropriate, and sensorial learning, designed around themes with a fully interdisciplinary and project-based approach.

  • Primary School: Emphasis on inquiry-based and higher-order thinking skills, with transdisciplinary and project-based learning. The school has also developed its own thematic curriculum.

  • Senior School: A balanced combination of student-centred and teacher-directed approaches, including flipped learning and project-based learning, aligned with the ICSE and ISC curriculum.

Extracurricular: Extracurricular activities include art and craft, wood work, pottery and sculpture-making, Indian and Western dance forms, dramatics, instrumental and vocal music. The school also has interest clubs catering to Multiple Intelligences, and conducts visits by experts besides conducting community activities, field visits and trips.

Extracurricular activities also include:
