The Ministry of Education, Culture and Research of the Republic of Moldova has announced new opportunities for Indian students to pursue higher education in the Eastern European nation, known for its affordability, quality academic programmes, and international recognition.
Moldova, a member of the Bologna Process, offers degrees that are accepted across Europe and other countries, providing a pathway for Indian students to access global career and education markets. With English-medium instruction, scholarship opportunities, and a low cost of living, the country is positioning itself as an emerging destination for international education.
“We are proud to offer high-quality, internationally accredited education to students from around the world, especially from India,” said Dan Perciun, Minister of Education and Research of Moldova. “Our universities provide a safe, affordable, and inclusive environment to help students thrive both academically and professionally.”
Several top Moldovan institutions are welcoming Indian applicants. The Technical University of Moldova (TUM) is offering five fully-funded scholarships for Veterinary Medicine and Software Engineering programmes. TUM also offers Bachelor’s degrees in Business Administration and Master’s programmes in Data Science and Software Engineering.
The Academy of Economic Studies of Moldova (ASEM) provides undergraduate degrees in areas such as Business, Tourism, and International Relations, with postgraduate options in International Business, Economic Diplomacy, and MBA programmes.
For medical aspirants, the Nicolae Testemițanu State University of Medicine and Pharmacy offers internationally recognised degrees in Medicine, Stomatology, Optometry, Pharmacy, and Molecular Healthcare Technologies.
Meanwhile, Moldova State University (MSU) offers diverse programmes including Game Design, Literature in English, AI and Data Science, and International Law. Ion Creangă State Pedagogical University specialises in Animation and Psychology.
Bachelor’s programmes typically span three or more years, while Master’s degrees require a minimum of 18 months of study. Annual tuition fees start at just €1,800—significantly lower than many European countries.
