ROOTS, a Hyderabad based international school of business & management organised a cultural program on the occasion of fresher’s party — Aamanthran-2012, on September 14. The theme of the party was “Red & Black”. Two hundred students, faculty and staff of various colleges attended the party. B. Shivadhar Reddy, director of Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) graced the occasion and inaugurated it by lighting the lamp.
The student ramp walk livened up the party, with over a hundred students showcasing their ramp skills. The pageant’s selection criteria was ‘beauty with brains’. The contestants were put many questions, to which they had very interesting spontaneous answers, thereby showcasing their quick wits.
Speaking on the occasion, B.P. Padala, chairman of Roots said, “The freshers’ party as the name suggests is arranged for the new students. It’s an introductory function for the new comers where they get to familiarize themselves with the adopted culture of the institution. The introductions happen in a friendly manner and are aimed at establishing a friendly-cum-respectful relationship between the seniors and juniors. Our students and faculty toiled hard to put up a very good show.”
He added that “ROOTS” is not just an educational institution, but a conceptual education system with major focus on offering careers along with qualifications. The other highlights of the party were the innovatively executed skits, group dances, flash mob dances and stunts. The DJ belted out a mix of popular chartbusters, to which the enthusiastic bunch of students rocked till evening.
