Ryan International School (RIS), Kharghar, Navi Mumbai is a coeducational day school affiliated with the Council of Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE). It admitted its first batch of 89 students mentored by eight teachers on June 13, 1999. Today the school enrolls 3,502 students instructed by 125 faculty members. The school offers education from kindergarten to class XII.
One of the first educational institutions to be promoted in Khargar — a node of Navi Mumbai conceived and constructed by the Mumbai-based City and Industrial Development Corporation (CIDCO) in 1995 — RIS-Khargar’s primary objective was to offer residents of the new suburb the option of high-quality K-12 education.
RIS, Khargar is a constituent of the Ryan International Group of Institutions — India’s largest closely-held chain of 128 private primary-secondary schools with an aggregate enrolment of over 250,000 students countrywide. Since the group’s first school was promoted in 1975 by Dr. Augustine Pinto (chairman) and his wife Grace Pinto (managing director), RIGI has brought highly-prized, affordable English medium convent school education within easy reach of the country’s rapidly expanding and highly aspirational middle class.
RIS, Kharghar is sited on a 3 acre campus. The school offers 75 spacious classrooms, a 800-seats auditorium, well equipped computer lab, science laboratories and toys and music room for pre-primary students. The library is well stocked with over 3,000 books. Sports facilities include a football field, basket ball and tennis courts, swimming pool and cycling arena.
Specialised coaching by professional sportspersons is offered in chess, rifle shooting, throw-ball, swimming and carom.
Ryan International School, Kharghar is affiliated to CISCE and offers classes from kindergarten to class XII. It prepares students to write the class X ICSE and class XII ISC exams. School teachers regularly participate in workshops, seminars, conference and team building exercises organized by the Ryan Group’s central teachers training cell. The school offers a teacher-student ratio of 1:27.
Extracurricular:
Students participate in a range of sports and extra-curricular activities like chess, rifle shooting, throw-ball, swimming and carom.
