Delhi Public School, Sector 45, Gurgaon, hosted its annual Diwali Fete, SAHYOG, marking the school’s 24th Founder’s Day. The campus was lined with stalls, rangoli installations and festive displays as students, parents and teachers took part in the celebration.
The programme opened with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp by Dhara Jaipuria, Ravi Jaipuria, Pro Vice-Chairperson Devyani Jaipuria and Director Principal Aditi Misra. In her welcome address, Devyani Jaipuria reiterated the school’s motto, “Service Before Self”, underscoring the event’s focus on gratitude, unity and community involvement.
Cultural performances formed a significant part of the day. The school choir opened the event, followed by dance presentations Chaturang and Eklavya. The “Rainbow Runway – Walk With Me” segment saw teachers, alumni, promoters, parents and students walk with children from Shiksha Kendra, the school’s educational initiative for children from underprivileged backgrounds. The activity highlighted the school’s emphasis on inclusion and shared participation.
Addressing the gathering, Director Principal Aditi Misra expressed appreciation for the staff and parent community, noting that the school’s growth is strengthened by their continued support. She emphasised the significance of acknowledging efforts within the school ecosystem.
Funds raised during SAHYOG were directed towards Shiksha Kendra, aligning with the school’s ongoing commitment to service-based initiatives. Senior students also presented a street play advocating a no-cracker Diwali, followed by a flash mob that engaged the audience. International cultural exchange partners present at the event experienced the school’s Diwali celebrations firsthand.
As evening approached, families continued to visit the food stalls, game zones and photo booths across the campus. The event concluded with a focus on the central message of SAHYOG — encouraging collaboration, community service and responsible celebration during the festive period.
