Sarala Birla Gyan Jyoti, Guwahati is a co-educational day school affiliated with the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), New Delhi. Promoted by the BK Birla Family in 2004, the school started with classes from Nursery to class V with 450 students and 25 teachers recruited locally and well trained in the Schoolnet Software.
According to a school spokesperson, Sarala Birla Gyan Jyoti provides exceptional opportunities for the nurturing and development of not only academics but also innate abilities of its students. The school campus hosts a library, multipurpose hall, computer lab, science laboratories and classrooms equipped with EDUCOMP Smart Classes.
Sports infrastructure includes facilities for yoga, track and field events, swimming, gymnastics, badminton, martial arts, chess, table tennis, basketball, lawn tennis, cricket and football.
The school follows the CBSE curriculum and according to the school authorities, the school’s approach to education is designed to ensure students realise their true potential and grow up to become complete individuals and responsible citizens.

The school admits children from the age of 4 years. There is no written entrance test for UKG and LKG and children are selected on the basis of interview/interaction with the school authorities.
Candidates seeking admission to class I and above must write an admission test in English, arithmetic and second language. The date and venue of interview/admission test are notified on the notice board. Selected candidates from class II onwards must produce Transfer Certificates from the school last attended at the time of admission.
