The SBOA School and Junior College, Chennai is a co-educational day school affiliated with the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), New Delhi. SBOA School & Junior College was started on 6th June 1979 by E.A.G. Moses of the State Bank of India Officers’ Association Educational Trust to synchronise with the International Year of The Child. It is managed by the State Bank of India Officers Association, Chennai Circle. The school is equipped with 333 teaching staff and 9,960 students from LKG to Class XII. The medium of instruction is English.
The classrooms are equipped with plasma TVs (Educomp Smart Classes). The school hosts two computer labs, three multimedia labs, language lab besides math, biology, bio-technology labs. There is also a junior science laboratory and a science park. There is an open-air theatre and two indoor auditoriums for cultural events and functions. There is a canteen on the campus. The school has three health centres, stationery shop, a staff canteen and tuck shop for students, cooperative thrift and credit society, R.O. water treatment plant, a kindergarten play area and a splash pool. For older children there are basketball, badminton and throw ball courts and cricket practice nets. The school has an indoor stadium for badminton and table tennis and an air-conditioned gym.
The school follows the CBSE syllabus and Tamil, Hindi and French are offered as second languages. Tamil and Hindi are third languages and students must study any of the two from class VI to VIII. The course of study for class X is designed to prepare students for the All-India Senior Secondary Certificate Examination conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education. Compulsory subjects for class XI include: English (core), general vocational studies, general studies, physical education and health education electives. In addition, students are given the following elective groups to choose from:

Additionally, the school conducts free coaching classes, seminars and guest lectures, night study facilities and summer coaching camps. The school has various clubs like GK club, interact club, eco club, science club, literary club and associations such as the NCC, NSS, Road Safety Patrol and the Indian Red Cross.

Admissions are open only for LKG and class XI. The school admits students in other classes based on vacancies. Admission depends on performance in the entrance examination and preference is given to the children of SBI officers. Admissions to class XI depend on priority of registration and class X examination marks.
Students of SBOA have won many national and international championships in aquatics, karate and basketball.
Since SBOA is a day school, accommodation is not provided.
