- IB student Rochan Lakkamraju, initiated Project Sapient, raising $700 to empower visually impaired students in Hyderabad. An alumnus of the London School of Economics, Dr. Peter McLaughlin is a well-respected academician, historian, author, and educationist. He has over four decades of teaching and leadership experience in schools in the UK, Africa, the Middle East, and India including an eight-year. stint as Headmaster of the top ranked The Doon School, Dehradun (2009-2016).
In 2019, Dr. McLaughlin joined the Cognita Group and was appointed CEO of CHIREC International School when it became a member of its global community of Cognita schools.
Since taking charge at CHIREC, Dr. McLaughlin has launched several initiatives to build on the 34-year-old school’s strengths. Among them: master planning and construction of a new campus in Gachibowli; programmes focusing on students social-emotional and physical well-being to ensure more effective learning; and safeguarding, child protection and health & safety regimes enhancing CHIREC’s culture of care.
Dr. McLaughlin has been conferred several awards, including ‘Education Icon of the Year 2021’.
