The proprietor of a private school in Greater Noida has been apprehended for allegedly sexually assaulting a teacher on the school premises, according to the police.
The teacher claimed that the school owner sexually abused her for the first time in February and recorded the incident. He subsequently used the recording to extort her, subjecting her to repeated sexual assaults, the police stated.
“The school owner in Sector Sigma 2 lured the teacher to his office under the pretext of important work while she was at the school for regular duties. That’s when he sexually assaulted her,” explained a police spokesperson.
“Recently, the teacher shared her ordeal with her husband, and they chose to approach the police. Last week, they reported the matter at the local Sector Beta 2 police station,” the official stated.
An FIR was registered on September 29 under sections 376 (rape) and 507 (criminal intimidation by anonymous communication) of the Indian Penal Code, and efforts were initiated to detain the accused, according to the police.
On Tuesday, the accused was apprehended near the Chuhadpur underpass by Sector Beta 2 police station officers, they added.
The accused has been presented in a local court and is now in judicial custody, the police stated.
