Located in Dharwad, Karnataka, Sri Dharmasthala Manjunatheshwara College of Engineering and Technology (SDMCET), is reckoned among the premier private and autonomous engineering colleges in the state of Karnataka. SDMCET was founded in 1979 and is affiliated to the Visveswaraiah Technological University (VTU), Belgaum, Karnataka.
It is the first institute in north Karnataka to be accredited by the National Board of Accreditation (NBA), New Delhi, and one of the 14 institutions in Karnataka to receive the World Bank funding under Technical Education Quality Improvement Program (TEQIP) – Phase I.
The college boasts 580 students and about 101 faculty members, ensuring an effective teacher-student ratio at 1:24.
The institute’s Training and Placement Cell conducts regular workshops and corporate training. Every year, reputed companies visit SDMCET campus for recruitment drives.
Located in Dharwad, north Karnataka, SDMCET campus hosts numerous laboratories for each branch/department. Similarly, each department houses a separate computer centre besides having access to the institute’s centralized computer centre.
The institute library features a collection of over 60,000 printed volumes and a wide range of electronic resources.The institute hosts a spacious auditorium for cultural and other co-curricular activities, ample sports facilities, refreshment canteens, a bank branch, an ATM and a post office within the campus.
The campus houses five hostels – three for boys and two for girls.
The college offers four-year undergraduate course leading to the B.E./B.Tech degree, and two-year (four semesters) postgraduate course leading to the M.Tech degree.

The admission criteria for SDM’s BE/B.Tech course is a valid CET score. The candidate should have passed 10 + 2 Higher Secondary Examination or Equivalent Examination with a minimum aggregate score of 50 percent in Physics and Mathematics [both are compulsory subjects] and either of Chemistry or Biology or Biotechnology. The academic session starts in June.
