Senior bureaucrat Rahul Singh appointed CBSE chairperson

Senior bureaucrat Rahul Singh, a 1996-batch Indian Administrative Services (IAS) officer from the Bihar cadre, has been appointed as the new chairperson of the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). He will succeed Nidhi Chhibber, who has been appointed as an advisor for NITI Aayog.

This appointment follows a recent reshuffle ordered by the Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions, with the approval of the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC).

Singh, currently serving as the additional secretary in the department of personnel and training, brings a wealth of experience and expertise to his new role. With his extensive background in administrative services and deep understanding of education policies, Singh is poised to lead the CBSE effectively, ensuring the continued growth and development of the education sector in India.
